26

I love being a mom. Even when I am up late with them.

And this has been my life ever since.  And someone else took the focus of my pictures from this point on and I was more than happy to move out of the spotlight.  But it is a photo challenge of me so I will just have to find more pictures of me for the next few days before I turn my blog back over to the cute pics and activities of my kids.

We also took a trip to old Cali this year.  Oh so fun.

Our February Getaway

Yes, I am still on February posts.  I have one more after this one.  Jeesh- I have just not felt like blogging much lately!  But I make myself do it because it is the only documentation of our lives these days!

So on Presidents Day weekend, the Artist and I went to St. George.  Actually that was the plan, and we did, we just tacked on an extra 2 days in Vegas.  There was a photography convention there that he wanted to go to and we were able to get a babysitter for an extra 2 days, so why not!  We actually just went for the trade show at the MGM Grand.  Which was really neat for the Artist and mildly interesting for me.  Now that we don't have to try to make a business out of photography I don't really pay attention much anymore!

I entertained myself by getting all the free stuff at each booth and entering contests.  Reusable grocery bags, stickers, pens, sunglasses and candy.  I even scored a cute little tiara to give to Princess when we got home.  What's better than free souvenirs!  Both of us each won an $80 photo canvas too!

The Artist was most excited to get a try at his new camera- the Nikon D800.  Here he is testing it out:
We walked around for hours and felt pretty good.  That is until I had to stop and ask some lady which booth she got a certain bag at.  I had seen a few really cute ones that I hadn't gotten yet. This is my cray-Walmart-double-coupon-night skills coming into play!  She told us there was another entire hall of booths the same size as the one that just took us hours to go through!  Yikes!  So we walked around MORE and then went to a mall on the strip and got some clothes for the Artist and jewelry for me.

Next it was back to the hotel to crash.  I don't remember a time my legs hurt so bad!  We were so exhausted from all that walking.  We stayed on Fremont Street because it was cheap.  The Plaza had been remodeled super nice and we loved the decor.  The location was less than stellar though.  But we went out to see the lights and got free Mardi Gras beads- another free souvenir for Princess.  Sadly that's all we did in Vegas because we were too tired!

The next day we drove to Mesquite because the Casablanca has amazing breakfast for super cheap!  Are you sensing a financial tread here?!  We noticed the casino was giving everyone a free $10 credit.  We decided to take them up on the offer since it wasn't our own money we would be gambling!  We played the nickel slots and I won $16!!  Thanks Casablanca!

Next we moved on because were really excited to get to St. George for the Parade of Homes.  That was the real reason of our trip.  Well, that and to get away without kids and relax!  We went to the Parade of Homes here 5 years ago and fell in love!  We vowed we would come back every year- but it seems like every February we have a kid or loose a job and have to cancel the trip, so it was nice not to have anything get in our way this year.

We decided to just take video of our favorites houses.  Which is fun to see but annoying to post on the blog.  So I'm sad to say I won't be sharing all of our amazing finds.  I also couldn't find any pictures online of the best houses, surprisingly.  Except for this one, which just happened to be our favorite!

Still doesn't show how nice that house was though!  I also managed to snap a picture of this little gem of artwork at a different house:

LOL!  I had fun coming up with tittles for that!  Overall it was just so amazing to get away, just us.  We went to a few movies, ate out, went shopping, saw amazing houses, slept in and napped a lot.  No cleaning, cooking or work stress.  So nice!  Can't wait to go back again next year!
